Increasingly, there are legal compliance requirements for web accessibility. This includes laws coming out of the EU as well as the US and other nations. These new compliance requirements represent an opportunity for agencies to generate revenue while helping their clients with needed work– even if the agency doesn’t have accessibility experts on staff.
In this livestream, Bet Hannon will outline compliance requirements for web accessibility to help agencies understand which of their clients might have compliance requirements, what the deadlines are, and what information they need to be sharing with those clients.
Bet will also share ideas for pitching accessibility to clients, how to get started on improving client accessibility without experts, and how to get professional help with accessibility.

Bet Hannon is the CEO of AccessiCart, a services agency that helps eCommerce and high user-interaction sites remove barriers for customers with disabilities and meet web accessibility compliance requirements (like ADA and the EAA – the European Accessibility Act). AccessiCart specializes in testing, consulting and reporting alongside existing website teams to level up skills and educate regarding compliance. Bet is a contributor to the WordPress Project, a speaker at Meetups & WordCamps, and is the cofacilitator of the WordPress Meetup in Bend, Oregon where she lives.
